Inspector Jelly and the Raincoat

Here is my worker guy look

This is just perfect for doing my inspections.  A pup has to obey the safety rules and wear her safety vest on the job site.  What is that Mommy?  You want me to tell the real reason I have the safety vest?  Pups, I just told you the real reason.  Mommy thinks it is for my night time outings in the backyard so she can see my little black body in the dark.  Don't believe her, it is my inspector outfit!

I promised Charlie I would show him pictures of me with the hood on my raincoat.  Here I am

I hate anything on my head.  I don't know what power it has but anything on my head makes my legs not work.  I can't walk even one step with something on my head.  This is why I don't wear the hood on my raincoat.

Renovation Update

I didn't bark for a really long.  You can blame Mommy for not typing for me because I am always willing to bark.

During this time we did lots of renovations.  I don't see the point of renovating but I do like barking and supervising the worker guys.  We didn't have big renovations since our house was 9 years old when we bought it 3 years ago. I thought a renovation update would be interesting so you can see the workers guys I got to bark at.

The first thing last fall was a new kitchen floor.  First Mommy started coming home with samples to try. They were big samples and I enjoyed smelling them.  Here is some of the samples

Once she chose what she wanted then the worker guys were here for a full day banging away.  Here is the final product

After the flooring came the gliding shelves.  Now Mommy doesn't have to go down on her hands and knees to get stuff out of the bottom cupboards.  I actually thought it was more fun to have her on her hands and knees so this didn't work out too well for me.  Here are some of the shelves

The next thing was more serious.  Mommy walked under one of the kitchen lights and it came crashing down and just missed her.  Mommy said we were lucky that it didn't land on me or hit her on the head.  This is the light that came crashing down

These are the pieces

So now Mommy decides we will replace all the kitchen lights, oh my dog, here we go! Here are the new lights

I had a good time barking at the electrician guy.  He also installed that wind machine a couple of blogs ago.

Things were quiet for a couple of months and then we got new shingles.  Yep, 12 year old house that needed shingles.  A large number of the houses around here are getting new shingles.  The shingle guys said it was the cheap builder quality shingles that are to blame.  Grrrr...   I had two days of good barking here.  Those worker guys did so much banging that they knocked a clock off the wall and our pictures all needed to be straightened afterwards.  I have no pictures of the shingle event.

Next came the small pressed concrete walkway that I barked about a few blogs ago.  Here it is again

Those worker guys were here three days in a row.  The first day they took out the old walk and were making lots of noise.  Mommy held me up so I could watch through the window for awhile but she didn't take me outside.  They also put up the forms for the concrete.  On the second day a big truck came with concrete and they filled in the forms.  Again Mommy didn't let me outside to supervise and only held me up by the window to watch for a short time.  This was not going good.  On the third day they were back and hosed some powder stuff off the concrete and took away the forms.  Mommy opened the door and I saw my opportunity and I ran straight by Mommy through the door, down the steps , across the new walkway to the grass and started barking like crazy at the worker guys.  I had to make up for the full three days!  Mommy picked me up and put me back in the house.  Grrrr... That serves them right for not letting me go outside.

Last week there were some asphalt guys at our house.  I didn't see anything!  Mommy wasn't even here.  The guys did a repair where the driveway had sunken by the garage. I just heard all the noise.

I think I have some barking days coming next week.  The concrete guy has to come back and seal the new walkway.  The asphalt guys are also suppose to come back and put some sealing stuff on the whole driveway.  Mommy says they might do it when she is at work.  Grrr. I don't like that because I won't get to see anything.

That is it for renovation updates.  Hmmmmm what is the next project......

Raining Today

It is pouring rain today.  At first Mommy and I just laid in bed waiting for it to quit.  It just kept raining so Mommy said I would have to try going out in the rain.  Out came my rain coat and I was ready to go outside and do my potty.  Here I am

We waiting for the rain to slow down and here was our opportunity

The door opened and I ran out.  Even Mommy went out in the rain and she saw me do a pee pee in the rain.  I cam running back up the deck and wanted in.  Here is me shaking or at least a blur of me shaking

Here is wet me but it wasn't too bad because I stayed pretty dry with the rain coat

I am going to have to be on high alert today watching for that bad Notme.  I don't want him coming here and getting me in trouble. He potties in the house when it rains.  Stay away from my house you bad pup!

Love No Alarm Days

.I love what Mommy calls Saturday mornings.  Normally it is a no alarm day.  I love no alarm days because that means Mommy doesn't rush out.  Here is me just chilling on the big bed and enjoying the no alarm day we are having this morning

I have my very own blanket that Mommy puts on the bed and I don't move off my blanket.  I like it much better then that wild flowery thing that Mommy has. Mommy loves her flowery summer quilt.  She just got it at a place called Bed, Bath and Beyond.  If you look it is reversible with stripes.  Yuk!  The design on my blanket is better.

Mommy had a worker guy install a wind machine over our bed this spring.  I love the wind machine and stretch out on my blanket and enjoy the nice breeze.  Here is our wind machine.

Mommy has a remote control for it.

Another thing about no alarm days is Mommy usually makes a good breakfast.  On alarm days she just has boring cereal but on no alarm days she quite often makes us eggs.  This morning I get to have eggs!  I have to run now pups to eat my Eggs!

Notme Returns

Do you pups remember that bad pup called "Notme"? I hadn't seen him in a very long time but he came to my house twice this week! Grrrrrr!  That pup always likes to get me in trouble.  You see we finally got some rain this week and Notme doesn't like to potty outside in the rain. I bet you can guess what he did?  Yep, he did his pee pee two times on the carpet in the back bedroom.  Can you believe that Mommy thought it was me?  She said I should be ashamed of myself.  Now she is putting up the little gate so I can't go into the nice carpeted bedrooms in the evening.  She is saying something about I have to earn the privilege to go there.  Grrrrrr?  I keep telling her it was Notme but she doesn't listen.  I ask you can this sweet little pup do such a bad thing?

I bet that bad pup saw my blog so he came here to cause trouble.  Yep, that is what happened!

Extra Photos

Here are a couple of photos we thought we would add:

Here is Rufus (Boyfriends dog) and Nieces dogs Copper and Dawson.

Here is a good one of Rufus:

Rufus

We forgot to include Rufus in the last blog entry.  Sorry Rufus!  Niece has a boyfriend that she has been with for the last 3 years.  Are we going to be getting a nephew soon do you think?(this is a hint to Boyfriend).  Anyways Rufus is his dog.  Here is Rufus:

Niece always says not to get taken in with that innocent face.  His specialty is taking food off the counter.  The counter is head level so I guess it all looks too tempting to resist.  He is known to take a full pie of the counter and have swallowed it before anyone could stop him. It was a pie that Niece had just baked.  Baking is another talent that Niece has.  Anyways I have digressed.  While Mommy was there the peepoles were cleaning pickerel that they had just caught and Rufus came over and grabbed one and swallowed it before anyone could do something about it.  BOL!  I would have loved to see those peepoles scrambling around.  Hmmmm.....I think I could put some of Rufus's talents to good use.  Rufus, do you want to come for a visit to my house?

Niece Update and Owls

I thought I would give an update on Niece.  We are very proud of her. If you don't already know she graduated with honours with a Bachelor of Nursing.  A couple months later she wrote her RN exam and passed the first time. (They get 3 tries to pass it!).  Since then she has worked two years as an RN in an emergency department of a hospital and has now worked for over two years as a flight nurse.  She works on a two week on and two week off rotation in the North.  She flies with patients all over the North and many times brings them to Winnipeg.  She can go to other locations like Toronto. She may even have to take them to the USA if that is where they are going for treatment.  She just recently got accepted into the Masters program in nursing and will be doing that on a part time basis in the fall.  Congratulations Niece!  We are so proud of her! Here is a picture of her with her dogs and with a fish she caught:
That is one big fish!  Doesn't she look young?  Sometimes her patients think she is a first year student and she has to convince them otherwise.

She has a very intense hobby in photography that has turned into a part time business.  She has taken lots of photography courses and is very good at what she does.  She does weddings and other types of photography work.

This gets to the story of what happened when Mommy was visiting her.  Niece had a job to take advertising photos and a video for a local yoga studio.  They wanted to take the video and the photos out in nature.  Mommy took a drive with her to find the perfect locations to do this photo shoot.  As they were driving around they spotted two owls flying around in the middle of the afternoon.  Niece immediately jumped out with her camera and took these photos:
Those owls were way up in the trees but Niece had a good camera with a big lens and got these shots. What beautiful photos!  Mommy and Niece were very excited to have seen these owls.

Hi Pups

Hi Pups!  I haven't barked in a really, really long time.  Mommy and I are doing well.  Here is a recent picture of me

Mommy is still working but I think she should retire so she can spend all her time with me.  We are on vacation for five weeks but it is almost over.  Mommy went to Winnipeg to visit Grandpa and I went to doggy camp aka kennel.  I have a great time there.  I have lots of friends to play with, we go on three long walks in the country each day, lots of treats, attention from the humans and lots of time playing in the exercise area.  Fun,fun, fun!

As much as I had fun it was great to get home and spend time with Mommy.  My Mommy always thinks of projects to do around the house.  For the last two days I have been supervising some worker guys putting in a small pressed concrete walk. Here is a picture of the walkway

We are having lots of hot weather and a drought.  People who live outside the city have empty wells and we have water restrictions. As you can see from the photos the grass is yellow.  We hope to get rain soon.

Bark at you later!
