Safety Tip

Today is Sunday and I love Sunday because Mommy doesn't go to work.  We slept in this morning and then had a nice breakfast.  All last weekend it rained and rained so it was nice to see the sun this morning.  Here I am enjoying the sun:

It isn't hot out and was about 12 degrees C.  You pups are going to have to figure out what that is in F.  It makes my head spin thinking of that calculation.  I really enjoyed the sun!

We got new living room furniture that I barked about last time.  I think it was very considerate of Mommy to buy tables that have a little step that help me reach things on the table.  Here I am using the step:

Don't you think that is considerate?  Mommy doesn't seem to like me using the step, I don't get it.....

This week we got the lamps to finish off our living room.  Here is a picture:

This lamp is a tri light which means there is three different light levels.  The people at the store told Mommy to always use tri light bulbs in tri light lamps or you would be risking having a fire.  This is an important safety tip for you to tell your pawrents.  Mommy didn't know this and has put regular bulbs in tri light lamps. The people at the store actually showed her burnt sockets that had been on fire for this reason.  We will never put a regular bulb in a tri lamp again.

Spring is Here!

It has been a really long time since I barked.  Here is a picture of me taken today in my yard.  For some reason Mommy got some worker guys to dump all those rocks in my yard,  Trust me they are boring but Mommy seems to like them.

Mommy and I are doing well. Mommy has been busy, busy at work.  I am going to have to nip at her heels more to type for me.

Here is another picture taken of me at Easter.  Look at the treats the Easter Bunny brought! We got new living room furniture and I am posing on our new sofa.  We also got a matching chair and recliner. I don't see anything exciting about them.  I love the yummy treats.

Where is the old furniture you ask?  Well, all the furniture went down to the basement.  Here is a picture of it with the new entertainment unit.  We just need to get someone to help Mommy to put the tv on top of the entertainment unit.  Can you see the electric fireplace?  It isn't real fire so you don't have to be scared.  It still has heat to keep you toasty warm on those cold nights.

I have more barking to do about my teeth but I will come back and bark about that next time. Nothing to get upset about so don't worry.

How are all you pups doing? I am going to have to catch up on my reading and see what every pup has been barking about.

Busy Week

My Mommy has not been very good at typing for me.  Mommy was away for work all last week and I stayed at the kennel.  The kennel is just a small place that only has 12 dogs maximum and the peepoles there spend lots of time with us pups.  Mommy says the place is so clean that she feels she could eat off the floor but wouldn't.

Here is the kennel place

This is a picture from before, all the trees have leaves now.

This is where Mommy spent the week at Niagara on the Lake:

She said she worked every day but I don't know if I believe her.  If you look at the picture it is called a resort.  I wasn't born yesterday!

She admits she went with friends one evening and saw Niagara Falls and went to a Greek Restaurant.

Mommy and I were happy to get home and we were tired.  It was nice sleeping in on the big bed.  This morning Mommy made yummy eggs.  Here I am eating my kibble and eggs:

Princess Jelly

I have to have a mat to eat my kibble and I won't eat on the floor.  Here is my mat

The blue dish is for my water and the white dish with the little paw prints is for my kibble.

Tonight Mommy put some canned food on my kibble topped with a few yummy noodles.  I picked through the food and ate all the canned food and noodles.  It resulted in this

Mommy is calling it a mess and says I should clean up my kibble.  That is not a mess!  I know Mommy will clean it up in the morning when she gives me my breakfast kibble.  This pup will not eat crumbs and will not clean up kibble on the floor. Mommy calls me spoiled but I call it being a Princess.

Storm Warning Jelly

I am not very happy right now.  Why you ask? Because we are having a severe thunderstorm.  Mommy has terrible hearing and I always hear the storm coming way before she does.  She was yapping on the phone when I started to warn her about the storm coming.  She wasn't listening and told the peepole she was talking to that I was bugging her.  I just kept up warning her until she finally understood.  She told the peepole that she thinks I am hearing the thunder.  Yes, yes, yes, she finally got it! It wasn't any too soon because a couple of minutes later Mommy heard the thunder too.  Keeping these peepoles safe sure is a tough job!

Here is a picture from our front door of the rain:

You can see the rain coming down in the lights.

I hope it quits raining before I have to potty again.

I wonder if I can get a job with Environment Canada warning the peepoles about storms?  I will send in my resume......

Long Weekend

I am just so happy because this is a long weekend. It is a super long weekend since Mommy took today off too (Friday). Now we have a four day weekend!  Mommy asked me what I want to do. Oh my dogness I can think of so much to do.  Let's see.....we can sleep in, eat yummies, go for walks, play games, enjoy the backyard, go for a car ride to a park, go to a magic window place (aka fast food drive through) and that is just for starts.  Maybe we can go to some of my favourite stores and buy treats ?  Fun, fun, fun!

What is that Mommy?  You want to get our regular work done around the house today so we can have three days totally free?  That sounds like fun, I love supervising Mommy doing things!

Here is a picture of me that Mommy took this morning.  She was standing on the deck and I was running around the yard.  You may remember that I barked that we were having a drought this summer.  Our grass was all brown.  In the last couple of weeks it has been raining and our grass is turning green again.  You can still see some of the dead patches in the picture.

Inspector Jelly and the Raincoat

Here is my worker guy look

This is just perfect for doing my inspections.  A pup has to obey the safety rules and wear her safety vest on the job site.  What is that Mommy?  You want me to tell the real reason I have the safety vest?  Pups, I just told you the real reason.  Mommy thinks it is for my night time outings in the backyard so she can see my little black body in the dark.  Don't believe her, it is my inspector outfit!

I promised Charlie I would show him pictures of me with the hood on my raincoat.  Here I am

I hate anything on my head.  I don't know what power it has but anything on my head makes my legs not work.  I can't walk even one step with something on my head.  This is why I don't wear the hood on my raincoat.

Renovation Update

I didn't bark for a really long.  You can blame Mommy for not typing for me because I am always willing to bark.

During this time we did lots of renovations.  I don't see the point of renovating but I do like barking and supervising the worker guys.  We didn't have big renovations since our house was 9 years old when we bought it 3 years ago. I thought a renovation update would be interesting so you can see the workers guys I got to bark at.

The first thing last fall was a new kitchen floor.  First Mommy started coming home with samples to try. They were big samples and I enjoyed smelling them.  Here is some of the samples

Once she chose what she wanted then the worker guys were here for a full day banging away.  Here is the final product

After the flooring came the gliding shelves.  Now Mommy doesn't have to go down on her hands and knees to get stuff out of the bottom cupboards.  I actually thought it was more fun to have her on her hands and knees so this didn't work out too well for me.  Here are some of the shelves

The next thing was more serious.  Mommy walked under one of the kitchen lights and it came crashing down and just missed her.  Mommy said we were lucky that it didn't land on me or hit her on the head.  This is the light that came crashing down

These are the pieces

So now Mommy decides we will replace all the kitchen lights, oh my dog, here we go! Here are the new lights

I had a good time barking at the electrician guy.  He also installed that wind machine a couple of blogs ago.

Things were quiet for a couple of months and then we got new shingles.  Yep, 12 year old house that needed shingles.  A large number of the houses around here are getting new shingles.  The shingle guys said it was the cheap builder quality shingles that are to blame.  Grrrr...   I had two days of good barking here.  Those worker guys did so much banging that they knocked a clock off the wall and our pictures all needed to be straightened afterwards.  I have no pictures of the shingle event.

Next came the small pressed concrete walkway that I barked about a few blogs ago.  Here it is again

Those worker guys were here three days in a row.  The first day they took out the old walk and were making lots of noise.  Mommy held me up so I could watch through the window for awhile but she didn't take me outside.  They also put up the forms for the concrete.  On the second day a big truck came with concrete and they filled in the forms.  Again Mommy didn't let me outside to supervise and only held me up by the window to watch for a short time.  This was not going good.  On the third day they were back and hosed some powder stuff off the concrete and took away the forms.  Mommy opened the door and I saw my opportunity and I ran straight by Mommy through the door, down the steps , across the new walkway to the grass and started barking like crazy at the worker guys.  I had to make up for the full three days!  Mommy picked me up and put me back in the house.  Grrrr... That serves them right for not letting me go outside.

Last week there were some asphalt guys at our house.  I didn't see anything!  Mommy wasn't even here.  The guys did a repair where the driveway had sunken by the garage. I just heard all the noise.

I think I have some barking days coming next week.  The concrete guy has to come back and seal the new walkway.  The asphalt guys are also suppose to come back and put some sealing stuff on the whole driveway.  Mommy says they might do it when she is at work.  Grrr. I don't like that because I won't get to see anything.

That is it for renovation updates.  Hmmmmm what is the next project......

Raining Today

It is pouring rain today.  At first Mommy and I just laid in bed waiting for it to quit.  It just kept raining so Mommy said I would have to try going out in the rain.  Out came my rain coat and I was ready to go outside and do my potty.  Here I am

We waiting for the rain to slow down and here was our opportunity

The door opened and I ran out.  Even Mommy went out in the rain and she saw me do a pee pee in the rain.  I cam running back up the deck and wanted in.  Here is me shaking or at least a blur of me shaking

Here is wet me but it wasn't too bad because I stayed pretty dry with the rain coat

I am going to have to be on high alert today watching for that bad Notme.  I don't want him coming here and getting me in trouble. He potties in the house when it rains.  Stay away from my house you bad pup!

Love No Alarm Days

.I love what Mommy calls Saturday mornings.  Normally it is a no alarm day.  I love no alarm days because that means Mommy doesn't rush out.  Here is me just chilling on the big bed and enjoying the no alarm day we are having this morning

I have my very own blanket that Mommy puts on the bed and I don't move off my blanket.  I like it much better then that wild flowery thing that Mommy has. Mommy loves her flowery summer quilt.  She just got it at a place called Bed, Bath and Beyond.  If you look it is reversible with stripes.  Yuk!  The design on my blanket is better.

Mommy had a worker guy install a wind machine over our bed this spring.  I love the wind machine and stretch out on my blanket and enjoy the nice breeze.  Here is our wind machine.

Mommy has a remote control for it.

Another thing about no alarm days is Mommy usually makes a good breakfast.  On alarm days she just has boring cereal but on no alarm days she quite often makes us eggs.  This morning I get to have eggs!  I have to run now pups to eat my Eggs!

Notme Returns

Do you pups remember that bad pup called "Notme"? I hadn't seen him in a very long time but he came to my house twice this week! Grrrrrr!  That pup always likes to get me in trouble.  You see we finally got some rain this week and Notme doesn't like to potty outside in the rain. I bet you can guess what he did?  Yep, he did his pee pee two times on the carpet in the back bedroom.  Can you believe that Mommy thought it was me?  She said I should be ashamed of myself.  Now she is putting up the little gate so I can't go into the nice carpeted bedrooms in the evening.  She is saying something about I have to earn the privilege to go there.  Grrrrrr?  I keep telling her it was Notme but she doesn't listen.  I ask you can this sweet little pup do such a bad thing?

I bet that bad pup saw my blog so he came here to cause trouble.  Yep, that is what happened!

Extra Photos

Here are a couple of photos we thought we would add:

Here is Rufus (Boyfriends dog) and Nieces dogs Copper and Dawson.

Here is a good one of Rufus:

Rufus

We forgot to include Rufus in the last blog entry.  Sorry Rufus!  Niece has a boyfriend that she has been with for the last 3 years.  Are we going to be getting a nephew soon do you think?(this is a hint to Boyfriend).  Anyways Rufus is his dog.  Here is Rufus:

Niece always says not to get taken in with that innocent face.  His specialty is taking food off the counter.  The counter is head level so I guess it all looks too tempting to resist.  He is known to take a full pie of the counter and have swallowed it before anyone could stop him. It was a pie that Niece had just baked.  Baking is another talent that Niece has.  Anyways I have digressed.  While Mommy was there the peepoles were cleaning pickerel that they had just caught and Rufus came over and grabbed one and swallowed it before anyone could do something about it.  BOL!  I would have loved to see those peepoles scrambling around.  Hmmmm.....I think I could put some of Rufus's talents to good use.  Rufus, do you want to come for a visit to my house?

Niece Update and Owls

I thought I would give an update on Niece.  We are very proud of her. If you don't already know she graduated with honours with a Bachelor of Nursing.  A couple months later she wrote her RN exam and passed the first time. (They get 3 tries to pass it!).  Since then she has worked two years as an RN in an emergency department of a hospital and has now worked for over two years as a flight nurse.  She works on a two week on and two week off rotation in the North.  She flies with patients all over the North and many times brings them to Winnipeg.  She can go to other locations like Toronto. She may even have to take them to the USA if that is where they are going for treatment.  She just recently got accepted into the Masters program in nursing and will be doing that on a part time basis in the fall.  Congratulations Niece!  We are so proud of her! Here is a picture of her with her dogs and with a fish she caught:
That is one big fish!  Doesn't she look young?  Sometimes her patients think she is a first year student and she has to convince them otherwise.

She has a very intense hobby in photography that has turned into a part time business.  She has taken lots of photography courses and is very good at what she does.  She does weddings and other types of photography work.

This gets to the story of what happened when Mommy was visiting her.  Niece had a job to take advertising photos and a video for a local yoga studio.  They wanted to take the video and the photos out in nature.  Mommy took a drive with her to find the perfect locations to do this photo shoot.  As they were driving around they spotted two owls flying around in the middle of the afternoon.  Niece immediately jumped out with her camera and took these photos:
Those owls were way up in the trees but Niece had a good camera with a big lens and got these shots. What beautiful photos!  Mommy and Niece were very excited to have seen these owls.

Hi Pups

Hi Pups!  I haven't barked in a really, really long time.  Mommy and I are doing well.  Here is a recent picture of me

Mommy is still working but I think she should retire so she can spend all her time with me.  We are on vacation for five weeks but it is almost over.  Mommy went to Winnipeg to visit Grandpa and I went to doggy camp aka kennel.  I have a great time there.  I have lots of friends to play with, we go on three long walks in the country each day, lots of treats, attention from the humans and lots of time playing in the exercise area.  Fun,fun, fun!

As much as I had fun it was great to get home and spend time with Mommy.  My Mommy always thinks of projects to do around the house.  For the last two days I have been supervising some worker guys putting in a small pressed concrete walk. Here is a picture of the walkway

We are having lots of hot weather and a drought.  People who live outside the city have empty wells and we have water restrictions. As you can see from the photos the grass is yellow.  We hope to get rain soon.

Bark at you later!

Are You Around?

I haven't barked in a really long time.  I have sniffed around and I don't seem to smell many pups around here.  Please respond if you are around.  I will have to get my typist to do an update on me.  In general, me and Mommy are doing good.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year every pup and peepoles!

I have been having a great Christmas.  Santa Paws was here and I got treats and toys.  It has been real nice being home with Mommy.

Our oven quit working so it was the perfect excuse for Mommy to buy all new kitchen appliances at the Boxing Day sales.  She wanted new appliances and could not see spending money to repair the stove.  She said she saved over $1000.00 over the regular prices for the stove, fridge and dish washer.  The whole thing is boring but it made for some real good barking and supervising.  One day the handyman guy came and disconneected the dish washer.  The next day some guys came and removed all three appliances and brought the new ones.  Mommy said she donated the old ones to a church who was looking for appliances. She doesn't think it will cost much to repair the stove.  Then today the handyman guy was back and connected the dish washer.  My kitchen is now back to normal.

Tomorrow I am in for more fun because we are taking down our tree and other ornaments.  See you next year Christmas tree!  Our tree lives in the basement in a box all year and is only upstairs for the month of December.

We still don't have snow although it just recently got colder.  Tonight it is going to -8 C or 17.6 F.  Tomorrow is a high of -2 C or 28.4 F and a low of -5C or 23F.

Christmas Eve Barking

I hope all you pups are ready for Christmas.  We are ready with the tree up, presents bought and wrapped and all the yummies in the house.  It looks like we are going to have a green Christmas this year.  Mommy and I have never experienced a green Christmas so this will be new to us.  Here is a picture of me in my backyard taken today:

As you can see no snow.  If you look on the right side you will see the fencing Mommy put up to keep me in a small section for the winter.

Here is a picture of me looking out on my Kingdom from my deck.  I would not look at Mommy today while she was taking pictures and it drove her crazy!  BOL!

On another subject, here is a picture of our Niece taken a couple of years ago with her pup:

She is 24 years old and a nurse.  We are all real proud of her.

Here is a picture of her boyfriends dog.  He is 180 lbs and is a big goofy Beethoven pup.

I had lots of fun this week supervising the handyman guy installing our TV in the kitchen.  Then the next day the cable guy came which was lots of fun.  Mommy is not real techy but she managed to get the blue ray player installed and the Netflex working.  Now she says she has to figure out what to do with all the wires.  Here is our kitchen TV:(see the wire mess)

Wishing every pup a Happy and safe Christmas!

Miscellaneous Barking

I started this entry on Sunday but my lazy typist did not finish it.  This is what I barked on Sunday:

I do tend to snore when I sleep. It is because of my little pushed in nose.  Normally the snoring isn't bad but last night I really snored loud.  I snored so loud that I woke Mommy up at 1:30 am.  Mommy was in a sound sleep and at first she couldn't figure out where the noise came from.  I was curled up with Mommy so she woke me up and said not to snore.  As if I have any control in it!  Sorry Mommy.

You may know how I hate sucky machines. Well, yesterday showed promise with our sucky machine not sounding very good.  Mommy thinks we might have to get a new one.  I say we don't need one but Mommy says we do.  We need a machine for hardwood, ceramic tile, vinyl and carpet on the main floor and laminate in the basement.  Mommy is making me ask this question, what kind of sucky machine do your peepoles like?  Please say they don't like sucky machines.

Now for Wednesday:

Mommy came home from work and said she is not going back to work until January!  Our Christmas holidays have begun!  (Jelly does a happy dance)

Tomorrow should be interesting as the handy guy is coming over.  Mommy wants him to install a TV on the kitchen wall.  Yep, you heard me right.  Mommy said she can cook and watch TV or we can sit at the kitchen table and watch TV.  I see lots of barking and supervising in my future.  That now makes three TVs in our house for me and Mommy.

Poochie Bells and Christmas Tree

My pal Zaidie barked about his poochie bells.  I wanted to show all you pups my poochie bells.  I ring them when I have to go outside potty.  Mommy ignored the bells a couple of times and she ended up having to clean up some potty off the floor so now she always comes running.  You just have to train your peepoles and it works great.  Here are my poochie bells:

My Mommy is real lazy when it comes to our Christmas tree.  Our tree is a fake :0 !  It is one piece and four feet tall.  Mommy just has to put it in the base and plug it in since it has built in lights.  She adds a few decorations and some garland and instant tree in about 20 minutes.  Here is our tree:

You can see my chaise lounge just to the left with my big doggie pillow that is as big as me.  It is nice snuggling in my pillow on the chaise lounge by the tree.
